Job Description

The Junior Production Planner will assist in the planning and organizing production schedules, assessing project and resource requirements, and ensuring that production goals are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities

Assist in Production Planning: Work closely with the Assistant Operations Manager to develop and implement production plans and schedules based on customer demand and plant capacity.

Material Planning: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure production continuity. Coordinate with procurement and warehouse to manage stock replenishment.

Production: Supervise and drive the chemical team for production/Maintenance with quality focus to optimize plant capacity by planning production daily schedule and maximize the production output implementing effective and efficient preventive maintenance plan. Operation of SAP and Warehouse modules. Ensure to maintain the chemical warehouse as per chemical compatibility, drive the warehouse team for material management, inventory count and loading / unloading of material with quality focus to reach 98% delivery performance.

Quality: Ensure that the production of chemicals adheres to quality standards and specifications. Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues. Achieve the first pass hit rate >99%.

Regulatory: Ensure 100% compliance with Dubai Civil Defence & JAFZA local environmental, Health and Safety regulations. Responsible for tracking all the waste disposal (Solid/Liquid-Hazardous & Non-Hazardous through JAFZA approved vendor only). Ensure all the shopfloor team mandatory trainings are completed within the given time frame.

Product Introduction: Facilitate the introduction of new products to be blended using the appropriate Kurita workflows.

Reporting: Prepare and present production reports to the management team. Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement, encourage the shop-floor team to to report near miss and take corrective actions.

Collaboration: Work closely with various departments such as Sales, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Warehouse to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Graduate (BSc or MSc) in Chemistry or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in the chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of chemicals and their production processes is a plus.
