Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join the Safaniya Technical Support Division (STSD), under Northern Area Technical Support Department (NATSD).
NATSD provides engineering support for the Northern Area Oil Operations with specialized engineering and technical knowledge in the areas of varied disciplines to maximize profitability and meeting highest standards of safety and environment.
Key Responsibilities
You are expected to be able to perform the following:
Plan, schedule and provide work direction as required for preparation of designs, processes, reports, correspondence and related data and assures the efficiency, adequacy and conformance to overall objectives of all phases of very complex engineering problems.
Support the development and formulate the basis for engineering studies in any of several basic or special engineering fields by analyzing and evaluating all data pertinent to problems.
Evaluate data in order to define scope, assess effect on existing installations, economic value, long range planning and budgetary considerations, engineering reviews and workshops and other activities during a project life cycle.
Conduct process optimization and debottlenecking studies.
Conduct troubleshooting and diagnose major operational upsets, incidents and failures.
Recommend new installations or modifications to improve existing facilities.
Estimate costs, prepare justifications and complete expenditure requests as required.
Minimum Requirements
- As a successful candidate, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- You must have a minimum of 15 experience with advance knowledge in process engineering, obtainable usually through a combination of experience and continuing education. Preferred to have professional engineering certifications.
- You must have intensive experience in the area of hydrocarbon process engineering.
- You must be confident with engineering and design principles related to process engineering. Must have experience in process engineering and design applications such as process simulation for design, optimization and debottlenecking studies as well as with common equipment selection and sizing.
- You must have understanding and ability to interpret and analyze different types of engineering documents and data.
- You must be familiar with required international Codes and Standards.
- You must possess strong analytical abilities and project management skills.
- You should have a knowledge base of the latest developments in oil and gas process engineering technology through work experience, conferences, seminars and professional journals.
