Operations Director

Job Description

Position Summary

The Operation Director is responsible for the operations & maintenance of Beaat and Norm Plants. He / she implements, manages a safe, environmentally compliant plant that meets the site goals and provides service to its customers.

He / she reports to the Magma General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support General Manager in company setup and operation review.
  • Manage hazardous waste disposal activities in compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Manage master work schedules reflecting treatment and disposal capacities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop communication methods for schedule fulfillment, delays, and changes in treatment operations.
  • Supervise facility workforce and ensure effective use of employees.
  • Monitor operation budgets and implement controls.
  • Participate in asset, operations, and maintenance annual budget development.
  • Implement asset upgrade works to comply with Veolia standards.
  • Coordinate and provide training programs.
  • Upgrade facility procedures and performance.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operating reports.
  • Evaluate personnel and make recommendations for promotions and job re-assignments.
  • Provide incineration plant financial projections.
  • Ensure systems for preventative maintenance planning.
  • Final decision-maker for all waste approvals at the incineration plant.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical or Environmental
  • 10+ years of experience in the chemical waste or chemical processing industry with managerial and production operations is required.
  • Hazardous Waste experience with Incineration performing a broad range of operational and maintenance planning activities.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the Middle East.
  • Work positively in multinational teams; high cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity
  • Ability to work in CICPA controlled areas.
