Job Description

Join our Services_EMEA  team within Services division in United Arab Emirates as Head of Middle East Service Operations to help us take our growing rotating equipment services business to the next level.

Purpose of the job

Responsible for establishing and managing all operational functions of Sulzer Services in the Middle East covering the service, and upgrade of pumps, compressors, turbines and electromechanical equipment. Supports the Senior Management Team with defining operational direction and business unit specific objectives.

Main tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing customer relationships and development of business opportunities.
  • Responsible for overseeing operations and management of a multi-disciplined team which provides engineering services for rotating equipment.
  • Responsible for leading the service team towards operational plans and goals.
  • Ensure operational processes are cascaded to all functional areas and that operations are aligned with strategy and business objectives.
  • Ensure that appropriate metrics and key performance measures are deployed throughout the business in pursuit of operational excellence (quality, cost, delivery, response times).
  • Supporting management of profit & loss, budget planning and execution and monitoring financial performance and activities.
  • Supporting the management of manufacturing, scheduling, materials management and logistics, engineering, quality, HSE, HR, Legal and all other functions and activities relating of running of the businesses.
  • Develop customer relationships, vendors and operate in a multi-site international culture
  • Prioritise workload, maintain sense of urgency, credibility and ensure all customer needs and business requirements
  • Mentoring, directing, motivating, supervising, and monitoring all members of the allocated team to ensure high performance levels are attained.
  • Devise, develop and monitor action plans, the achievement of which will contribute to the fulfilment of the mid-range plan.
  • Monitor performance on a monthly basis to ensure projections are in line with financial plans.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding and appreciation of the market in which Services operates, now and in the future.
  • Maintain and develop organisational culture, values, and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory/official bodies.
  • Overall responsibility and accountability for Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental issues within the ME region.
  • Proactively engage and support company initiatives designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection, and continual improvement.

Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge

  • Degree in engineering, science or business discipline and/or relevant experience within related industry.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience of similar role in related industry.
  • Be able to demonstrate the delivery of financial performance and growth in a similar industry sector.
  • Demonstrate leadership and people skills and the ability to communicate and motivate at all levels.
  • Experience of formulating and implementing operational business strategy.
  • Minimum of IOSH managing safely.
