Job Description
Responsible for developing and delivering equipment-related technical training to internal and external customers. Act as a technical expert and support for various parties in sizing and performance evaluation of reciprocating compressors and other rotating machinery. This role merges technical training, support, and project execution expertise, thus making it pivotal in ensuring operating assets’ optimal performance and safety.
Principles Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and conduct comprehensive training programs for reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, engines, and other rotating equipment at various sites
- Offer expert level technical support for the operation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting issues in oil and gas facilities, emphasizing reciprocating gas compressors, gas and diesel engines, Amine and Cryogenic plants, compression plants, produced water treatment, and oil processing systems
- Perform detailed technical reviews of operating assets for performance improvement, integrity, operability, and troubleshooting
- Utilize compressor and engine performance software to evaluate and optimize equipment performance
- Conduct sizing and performance evaluations of reciprocating compressors and other machinery as required
- Coordinate closely with site operations, execution teams, and vendors to ensure effective job execution, troubleshooting, and implementation of technical solutions
- Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers to incorporate changes in parts, designs, service bulletins, and specifications of machines when required
- Take a lead role in implementing modifications, upgrades, and improvement solutions, including retrofit, design changes, and new technology adoption as required
- Analyze and mitigate potential HSE and technical safety risks associated with changes to operating assets
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager
Qualifications
- Minimum a Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Instrumentation & Controls, or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in engineering, operations, commissioning, and technical support, especially in gas compression
- Obtain and maintain certifications from relevant equipment providers such as Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, GE, Siemens, Dresser Rand is required
- Capable of making decisions and executing with various stakeholders buy in
- Analytical, have leadership skills, attentive to details, organized with an ability to think creatively
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner
- Proven experience as a Trainer, with a focus on designing and delivering technical training programs
Physical Requirements
