Job Description

The person will assume the duty of organizing, carrying out, overseeing, managing, and finalizing project requirements in accordance with the outlined responsibilities for various projects as per the following

  • Lead the company’s Supply Chain function, which includes strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier development and management, contracting strategy, and supplier delivery assurance.
  • Own the approved vendor list (AVL) and its associated upstream processes of vendor qualification, and downstream processes of performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement a supplier performance management framework that includes assessment criteria and a mechanism for regular performance assessments.
  • Develop and implement a supplier risk management framework that includes contracting strategy best practices, vendor risk assessment criteria, and best practices for dealing with supply chain challenges such as delays, etc.
  • Develop and implement a strategic cost management framework that includes spend monitoring and KPIs, spend optimization strategies through partnerships and contracting arrangements, negotiation best practices, etc.
  • Directly take responsibility for negotiating the company’s largest POs (both pricing and terms) and work with suppliers to improve pricing, lead times, flexible payment terms, and after-sales support.
  • Directly take responsibility for hands-on delivery assurance during high-priority supply chain challenges.
  • Develop existing organizational talent with a special focus on negotiation and supplier management in the company’s procurement function.
  • Maintain a regular cadence of meetings with counterparts in partner / key supplier organizations.
  • Partner with Sales and Solutions teams to ensure qualified, cost-effective, and reliable suppliers are chosen for all projects.
  • Partner with Operations, Factory, and Logistics to execute our standard supply chain workflows and/or project-specific strategies.
  • Regular travel within UAE, and occasional travel across the EMEA region.
  • Ready to travel internationally on short notice to resolve significant supply chain challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering or a related field
  • CIPS Certification
  • 10+ Years of experience in a similar role with industry experience
  • Significant work experience in the UAE market including relationships with reliable hardware fabricators/integrators (ex. Electrical Buildings, Skids, etc.)
  • Work experience in the KSA market is a strong bonus.
  • Demonstrated experience in building supply chain frameworks, qualifying new vendors, managing contracting strategies, and negotiating multi-million-dollar supplier agreements.
