Job Description
You as a Steel Design Engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. You will be focusing on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project including Preparing designs, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc. Identifying, developing, and gathering the resources necessary to complete the project.
Your responsibilities
- Technical project lead in steel structures and providing support during all the project phases starting from sales to design and production of the steel structures until the completion of site installation.
- Handling the engineering activities of the internal engineering team in Brno (Czech Republic) and Chennai (India), as well with external steel suppliers.
- Technically responsible for project execution in compliance with the applicable codes and standards and to achieve targets related to costs, deadlines, and materials.
- Working in close cooperation with supply chain in Saudi Arabia for technical offer closure and material ordering.
- Supporting the I&C team (remotely) as and when needed for smooth site installation.
- Leading technical meetings, providing advice and finding out solutions with sales, project engineering and customers.
- Interfacing from GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) project engineering to scaffold engineering.
- Responsible for the building interface, steel structures, openings, GIS with focus on design and construction details.
- Developing templates, improving the checklist, reducing manhour cost with optimized design solutions.

Your background
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a technical background.
- 2+ years of experience required in the electrical engineering field.
- Reading and interpreting engineered documents and specifications.
- Ability to solve complex electrical design challenges through analytical thinking, attention to detail, and innovative problem-solving strategies.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic language is required.
