Job Description
Lead implementation of governance and oversight activities for the Radiation Safety (RS) function, as well as support throughout the planning, execution, and operational phases of management activities for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP). Lead the development and maintenance of RS Programs, Processes, Procedures and systems to ensure all activities are consistent with regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection, to achieve the overall business performance objectives.

Activity
Radiation Safety Functional Management and Standardization
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Lead the governance and oversight activities of all BNPP units’ Radiation Safety activities, and monitor the execution of its program, processes and procedures to ensure standardization across BNPP units and achieve the highest level of safety and reliability.
- Lead the development of key Radiation Safety Programs, Processes, and Procedures to maintain operational excellence.
- Lead the development and maintenance of Radiation Safety programs, processes, procedures and systems in line with regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection, to achieve the overall business performance objectives.
- Lead the periodic or unscheduled oversight activities including surveillance and check of Radiological Protection System and equipment to ensure the highest standards of conduct.
- Identify any potential Radiation Safety issues, analyze cause effects and take appropriate actions with reporting to the management of Radiation Safety.
Plant Support
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Review and support for the BNPP As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) Committee, to improve plant performance with regards to exposure.
- Provide support to the plant organization in preparation and conduct of WANO (World Association of Nuclear Operator) and INPO (Institute of Nuclear Power Operations) evaluations, to excel in evaluation and ensure feedback is appropriately implemented.
- Engage in creating and management of the Radiation Safety budget and business plan in line with business requirements.
Reporting

- Develop periodic data review graphs and reports to analyze plant performance and look for improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and review periodic reports for management oversight to assist in safe operations.
- Prepare and review report to upgrade the performance of the facilities to ensure alignment with standards.
- Identify and monitor urgent and emerging issues to line management to ensure expedient mitigation.
Health and Safety, Security, and Business Continuity

- Follow all relevant company’s Health and Safety policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure compliance in all aspects of work as per sound management practices.
- Apply these policies and procedures to self and others to ensure reasonable care of the health and safety of the employee; the environment; and various individuals who may be affected by the employee’s acts or omissions at work.
- Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.
- Follow all relevant Business Continuity and Resilience requirements for compliance with, and adherence to, policies, procedures and instructions related to the effective planning for, and response to, incidents or business disruptions in order to continue critical business processes and activities with minimal adverse impact.

Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor of Science Degree.
- 5 years of relevant experience.
Or equivalent as stated in the Job Description Procedure (HR-PRC-0004).
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering or Physics.
- 5 years of Nuclear Power Plant experience, out of which:
- 2 months BNPP site experience.
- 3 years participation in radiation protection activities at a nuclear power plant.
- APR-1400 or OPR-1000 operation, Radiological Protection or Radioactive Waste Management.
