As our Senior HSE Manager, your primary mission is to drive excellence in Health, Safety & Environment at the site and management levels. You’ll quickly gain the trust of our site teams, becoming the go-to resource for HSE advice.
Your role involves monitoring and validating the effective implementation of our project’s Risk Control Strategy. You’ll also serve as a resource for the technical interpretation of health, safety, and environmental regulatory requirements. Your expertise will provide invaluable support to our Project Management Consultants, Jacobs, and Contractors’ site teams, where you’ll recommend actions for continuous improvement. Jacobs is construction supervision consultant for a multi-billion development mixed-use historic, culture and lifestyle destination. The project will be the Kingdom’s historic and cultural heart, proudly showcasing to the world Saudi Arabia’s 300+ years of history through an engaging and inspiring set of heritage, hospitality, education, retail and dining experiences for residents, tourists and frequent visitors. It aims to be developed as an urban, mixed-use development inspired by the principles of both new urbanisms ensuring its main anchors rooted in its historic culture and heritage. Ultimately, the destination will include museums, galleries, restaurants, retail experiences, public squares, hotels, multiple recreational spaces, residences, educational institutions and offices. This is an exciting opening for the Health, Safety & Environment Senior Manager. Based out of Riyadh KSA, this role will develop, lead, and implement HSE within Jacobs and its projects and major programs.
The key responsibilities of this role include (and not limited to): Setting the strategic HSE direction for the company to help achieve its overall growth targets. Coaching and mentoring the Jacobs H&S staff, overseeing their activities and helping develop them in their HSE role. o Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Jacobs ISO accreditations to ISO 9001(Quality, 14001(Environment) and 45001(Safety). Oversee the ISO internal audits ensuring all actions are followed up and closed out within suitable time scales. Develop, implement and monitor the Jacobs annual HSE Objectives. Report regularly to the Regional Director on the Jacobs HSE performance, providing reports as necessary for the management team. Supporting PD on Jacobs projects implementing HSE within their projects, developing proposals, Project Execution Plans, and H&S Plans. Participate in the effectiveness of the Customer feedback evaluation to identify areas for improvement within the projects or company. Provide HSE consultancy services to clients.
Ensure Jacobs HSE standards and their application are in aligned with the company philosophy. Provide visible safety leadership across the company through implementation of the HSE strategy and objectives. Act as the main HSE focal point for Jacob’s shareholders and develop suitable relationships. To lead Audits as necessary with Jacobs to help confirm compliance with company systems and operational requirements. To lead the continual improvement of the Jacobs internal management system ensuring all procedures remain updated and in good condition. Deliver training to Jacobs staff on appropriate HSE topics to help enhance the Jacobs HSE culture and internal staff skill set. Manage all aspects of the development and implementation of Jacobs Beyond Zero approach.
Here’s what you’ll need
As a successful candidate for the role, you will require to have 10-15 years of experience within HSE roles, with at least 5 years’ experience in a HSE Management role. BSc. Engineering Degree or equivalent NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent 3 years’ experience working within the Middle East region, ideally KSA. OHS profession designation (CRSP, IH, CSP, CIH etc.) strongly preferred. Knowledge of KSA legislation.
