Senior Business Development & Partnerships Specialist

Job Description

The job holder is responsible for developing and conducting Business Development & Partnership’s activities, to foster WTCO’s development, and maximizing the financial gains to achieve WTCO’s overall objectives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure work is performed based on approved policies, processes, procedures and instructions.
  • Generate, implement, and constantly evaluate commercial strategies and frameworks for designated markets to attract investors/partners.
  • Develop in-depth market research and analysis on potential business development opportunities, including financial statements, economic data, market trends, innovation trends, and start-ups directly relating to WTCO’s mandate in coordination with concerned business units.
  • Develop the ideation and brainstorming process of innovative solutions/concepts.
  • Ensure business case development in regulated & unregulated businesses aligned with WTCO strategy and in coordination with concerned business units and stakeholders.
  • Ensure analyzing and assessing business and market trends in the water sector and lead the evaluation and selection of business development opportunities in alignment with WTTCO’s strategy.
  • Ensure developing WTCO’s commercial strategy, value proposition, and framework for business opportunities promotion and investment execution.
  • Ensure developing the incubated start-ups and entrepreneurs in line with the predefined criteria and based on a valid business case.
  • Ensure developing and implementing tools, templates, and standards for effective stakeholders’ management at the portfolio/program/project level.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand (operational) drivers, challenges and form strong strategic relationships.
  • Review and guide the development of analytical models and tools used to address identified business challenges.
  • Develop and identify local advantages and tangible and intangible factors to attract new investors/partners both nationally and internationally.
  • Ensure identifying and sourcing potential investors/partnership opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls, emails, and investor visits.
  • Ensure conducting internal investment research activities and evaluate existing and prospective investment, capital markets, and other related investment topics from quantitative and qualitative perspectives.
  • Leverage market research/analysis generated to develop recommendations and value propositions for investors/partners.
  • Utilize and expand professional networks to build and maintain relationships within the water sector to ensure delivering WTCO’s strategic goals.
  • Ensure protect relationships with investees by maintaining good communications with investees for risk monitoring and support business development efforts such as follow-on investments, technical advisory service delivery, etc.
  • Reach out to any potential local/international investor and collaborate (consortiums, JVs, …. etc.) on generating business opportunities in adherence to relevant regulations and bylaws.
  • Assist in developing major investment decisions based on mergers & acquisitions opportunities assessments and business cases in line with WTCO strategy.
  • Ensure participation in events and activities that will help raise WTCO’s profile globally as a major center of innovation and growth for international business investors.
  • Keep abreast with the latest changes in the financial market to suggest the best plan for investment attraction and partnership management with minimum risks involved and maximum returns.
  • Provide input for the development of reports regarding operations, activities and achievements for reporting and decision-making.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant fields.
