Job Description
Stantec is looking to hire a Safety Engineer to ensure effective implementation of safety management system and plans.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Monitor, Implementation of approved project health and safety plan.
- Audit compliance with HSE project and local regulations and procedures.
- Promote site awareness, Inspect fixed and mobile plants and equipment.
- Investigate construction incidents and accidents.
- Participate in the development of safety programs.
- Participate in the project HSE training programs.
- Conduct safety inspections and try to eliminate unsafe practices and conditions.
- Suggest ways to fix unsafe conditions in the work areas.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on safety performance.
- Train on-site personnel in safety.
- Coordinate with contractor’s health and safety team.
- Monitor compliance with project environmental requirements and report environmental.
- Hazards and violations.
Qualifications
- EXPERIENCE
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in safety management.
- BS Degree in Engineering.
- Certificate from Internationally recognized safety bodies. (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Fluency in the English language.
- Knowledge of system auditing.
