Job Description
- The role will report to the Project Director
- Ensures that proper and accurate records of contracts and negotiations are collected and maintained with respect to the project and creates and maintains a database of contract and notices templates.
- Leads, directs, and provide expert opinion all contractual aspects of executing the project including risk assessment.
- Ensures full awareness of the provisions of Power Purchase Agreement, EPC Contract, O&M agreement and various project agreements and manage the stakeholders effectively in line with the contracts.
- Responds to the correspondences from various counterparties and ensure the interest of the Company is protected.
- Develops and maintains contract check list and the coordination of the sign off by the Director of Legal and Contracts and actively monitors the project progress in line with the contract schedule, and ensures the parties adhere to the program and other deliverables under the relevant project agreements, and ensures risks and issues are identified, addressed and reported and, where appropriate, escalated.
- Interfaces with senior management team, finance, and legal personnel to meet overall project deliverables.
- Establishes procedures for award and administration of project contracts
- Verifies the invoices of the contractors along with the Owner’s Engineer and process the payments.
- Understands and prepare invoicing procedure for the Company and work together closely with the model consultant in finalizing the settlement system and plant model software.
- Monitors and manages the Company’s various registration documents, certifications, construction permits, project related permits, NOCs and work actively to ensure timely renewals.
- Acts as the first point of contract with respect to all insurance matters.
- Undertakes any other duties that are within the scope, spirit and/or purpose of the job, the title of the post and it’s grading as requested by the Director of Legal and Contracts.
Key Requirements
- Excellent English written and verbal skills
- Degree in Engineering AND/OR Master’s degree in Law.
- Minimum 15 Years of Experience working with large complex projects in Utilities, Energy, Oil & Gas industry
- Professional Certification in Contracts Management
- Skilled in standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.)
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
- Be able to dive into the details of non-contractual matters such as engineering, cost control, planning and construction in order to provide relevant contractual support
- Team player, yet you are able to work independently and duly manage your workload and priorities.
- Able to influence multi-functional teams and leaders, develop and maintain relationships across and between organizations.
