Job Description

As a small-scale Power stations Project Manager, you will be directly responsible for oversight, execution, and leadership of a team of suppliers and EPC to properly manage the construction and electrical work and work with consultant to align with goals and objectives (i.e. project planning and implementation, safety goals, etc.).

The role will ensure functions operate with the requirements of all client, local, state requirements. The position will be responsible for all project management functions with the assigned Power stations.

Candidate will report directly to Operation and maintenance director and will be tasked with providing a structured approach to the operations of the construction and electrical work functions while ensuring priorities meet key performance metrics.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Project planning, organizing tasks, the resources needed to complete them, costs and schedules to deliver the service by the deadline.
  • Managing project progress and delegating tasks as required.
  • Leading project planning meetings.
  • Taking responsibility for project milestone delivery.
  • Manages day-to-day site operations overseeing construction / Work planning and reporting activities, third party support of contractors / vendors performing work.
  • Makes periodic tours of the site to document findings on a building inspection form, as applicable. Inspects facilities and equipment to ensure standards are being maintained.
  • Assures compliance with audit programs, site policies, procedures and standard practices and manages local client control policies and procedures, Incident management and problem management and ensure all customer needs are being met and manage compliance of required local, state laws and regulations.
  • Manages, coordinates and exercise functional responsibility approving and process site invoices, purchases of supplies / equipment for use at a site level, maintains budget / cost save tracker.
  • Manages management system work orders / facility service requests at the site level.
  • Manages goals and objectives that align with goals and objectives at the site level. Works with team on alignment and delivery. Is proficient in understanding the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensures continual compliance to meet or exceed these goals. Establishes written Performance Measurement for employees, EPCs.
  • Manage customer satisfaction, discuss any recommended changes to the overall program and the financial impact they may have on construction and electrical work. Work with team on results, expectations and associated action plans.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal customers as well as external team members (consultant, architects, civil engineers, contractors, clients representatives, etc.).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communications skills, presentation skills, strong ability to plan and forecast, and strong organizational skills.
  • Self-starter able to work independently while keeping Operation and maintenance Director appraised of progress and issues.
  • Ability to set priorities, handle multiple assignments, and work with diplomacy and efficiency.
  • Ability to regularly communicate analyzed data to customers and team to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of commercial leases, contract documents and routine accounting methods.
  • High competency in vendor, supplier negotiations.
  • Strong background and knowledge of analytics, KPIs and other metric-based competencies.
  • Thorough understanding of safety and OSHA requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, and a minimum of (3) three years of project management experience with advance knowledge of Power Plant.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS, Project Management software.
  • CAD experience a plus.
