Job Description
The purpose of this role is to perform system engineering activities related to industrial automation systems specific to control systems without supervision. Implement complex and standard engineering solutions, typically undertaking one aspect of a large project, to successful completion within budgeted time and cost constraints achieving required quality.
May interface directly with customers on specific design details of non-standard solutions. Can technically coach/mentor an assistant and actively shares knowledge with other engineers in the discipline team. To support the implementation of projects in line with Projects Automation Solution (P&AS) objectives including continuous improvement of margin, customer satisfaction, schedule, working capital and safety performance.
Responsibilities
- Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
- Produces part(s) of functional design specifications under minimum supervision.
- Produces (parts of) detailed design specifications.
- Executes work assignment to appropriate standards and quality systems (Implementation, Test & Documentation).
- Coaches and supports assigned engineer(s) to ensure they are able to meet the requirements of their work.
- Monitors and controls assigned work scope against the project plan.
- Effectively communicates with customers to fully define and agree project requirements.
- Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency improvements within the engineering group.
- Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines.
- Reports progress and technical problems and/or changes to project lead engineer or principal engineer.

- A minimum 5-7 years of applicable project experience is required, including hands-on engineering experience in at least one discipline within the field of control systems.
- Platform Knowledge of DCS, ESD, PLC and SCADA. Documents preparation like FDS, DDS, System Design Architecture Drawing.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (Computer Engineering, Computer since, Information Technology and Computing, Electrical and Computer Engineering).
- Relevant technical qualifications such as CCNA certification or equivalent are required for the role.
- Demonstrated experience in installing and configuring various types of stations, including Domain Controllers, OPC Server/Client setups. Proficient in conducting CPU loading and network tests, as well as establishing server and I/O redundancy.
- Hands-on experience in establishing communication between systems, including third-party interfaces using Modbus / OPC protocols, IP address assignment, selection of CISCO switches, choosing communication protocols, and configuring control firewalls.
- Working Knowledge of MS Office. Ability to effectively communicate in English is required.
