Job Description
Overall Purpose
Lead and manage a team of Project Managers for all projects in the directorate to ensure that NWC’s requirements for project management are implemented.
Key Accountabilities
- Allocate suitably competent Project Managers to specific projects, based upon project size, complexity and criticality.
- Periodically review the performance of Project Managers.
- Attend periodic management reviews in the cluster, in order to discuss the effectiveness and efficiency of the project management framework.
- Manage interdependent risks and value opportunities across the projects within the program.
- Work closely with the Cluster Risk Section Head to ensure that a compliant schedule of risk and value workshops is developed and implemented.
- Ensure that Project Managers properly coordinate the actions arising from risk and value workshops.
- Ensure that Project Managers properly organize design reviews, CAPEX stage gate reviews and project stage gate reviews.
- Act as the first point of escalation from Project Managers for all major issues and problems.
- Ensure that Project Managers organize robust reviews of Contractor recovery plans.
- Ensure that Project Managers cooperate fully with Project Auditors.
- Review and approve PMP and Project Initial Planning Documents, Strategies and plans.
- Discuss and identify suitable staff for the directorate projects.
- Approve the stage gate review for all directorate projects.
- Ensure that monthly project progress reports are jointly reviewed with the Project Managers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
- +12 Years of experience.
