We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer (STP & Pumping stations) for site supervision in a large complex infrastructure project to ensure that our projects adhere to the strictest quality control and assurance measures.

Role Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer for Site Supervision at Jacobs, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all Mechanical and Plumbing aspects of construction projects in Saudi Arabia. You will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of MEP systems, adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.

Make a difference. You will be a key part of our site supervision team and will be heavily involved our infrastructure construction projects. In addition, your duties will be to:

1. Site Supervision:

– Oversee day-to-day MEP site works, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.

– Monitor the progress of construction activities and take necessary actions to meet project milestones and deadlines.

– Perform regular site inspections and meetings with the contractor to identify and resolve issues and provide technical guidance to the on-site team.

– Monitor the contractor to ensure that they follow the approved planning and resource allocation to complete the works on time.

– Ensure that works are compliance with legal regulations and company procedures. Prepare project status reports and other project specific documentation under coordination with the RE.

– Coordinate MEP installations with various trades, including architects, structural engineers, and other subcontractors to avoid conflicts and ensure seamless project execution.

– Provide technical guidance and solutions to address complex Mechanical issues that may arise during construction, ensuring optimal performance and functionality of systems.

2. Quality Assurance:

– Implement and maintain quality control measures to guarantee the delivery of a high-standard infrastructure project in aspect to MEP.

– Conduct inspections and audits and supervise the construction to ensure that the contractor meets the project design, project specifications related to quality, workmanship and HSE.

– Under coordination with the RE responsible to ensure that the project meets industry standards and building codes.

– Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in Mechanical engineering, incorporating innovative solutions into projects.

– Under the lead of the RE do the required reviews and approvals for all Contractors submittals like (WIRs, MIRs, SORs, NCRs, MSRA, Logistics Plans, Shop drawings, etc)

3. Safety and Compliance:

– Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all site personnel adhere to safety regulations and best practices.

– Stay up to date with local regulations and ensure full compliance with Saudi Arabian construction laws.

4. Team Collaboration:

– Foster a collaborative work environment by effectively communicating with project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.

– Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical support to junior engineers and site staff.

– Under the lead of the RE be part and do the required communication with the project stakeholders

5. Problem Solving:

– Identify and resolve site-related issues and make informed decisions to keep the project on track.

– Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and respond to unexpected challenges.

– Identify potential risks associated with MEP and under coordination of the RE and CRE create mitigation strategies.

– Identify potential clashes and report them to the RE and suggest solutions

Here’s what you’ll need

– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

– Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Mechanical engineering with a strong focus on site supervision of STP and pumping stations.

– Professional engineering license or certification is a plus.

– Strong project management and leadership skills could be handy.

– Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.

– Proficiency in MEP design software and project management tools.
