Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for installation analysis activities associated with subsea engineering including but will not be limited to transportation and installation of PLET’s, PLEM’s, ILT’s and Manifolds and the analysis of installation of Flexibles flow-lines, Umbilicals, risers and Rigid Spools (SURF).
• Perform hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis for the different offshore installation activities.
• Perform hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis for subsea structure installation,
• Develop design capability (stability, hydrostatic hydrodynamics, hull, mooring, installation engineering, DP).
• Prepare naval deliverables (procedures, notes, technical reports).
• High accuracy level in delivered analysis results required in order to develop safe and robust installation methodologies.
• The engineer will be exposed to practical offshore experiences and best practices for offshore installation of SURF and structures, this knowledge should then be used for subsequent projects. This provides a constant loop of improvement to obtain more accurate results.
• Interface with other disciplines, giving feedback on install-ability and design.
• Offshore support and real time analysis for the on-going installation activities.
• Write technical project documents (installation engineering memo and installation analysis reports).
• Liaise with Project Teams for project data, installation feasibility, reporting to client.
• Liaise with Project Team to clarify aspects of the work and complete tasks within the agreed timeframe.
• Liaise with Project Team and client to clarify installation analysis concerns.
• Complete all tasks set by the Supervisor and assisting wherever possible.
• Observe existing engineering methodologies and techniques and offering suggestions for improvement.
• Conduct research and collect data.
• Observe health and safety guidelines at all times.
• Attend meetings and workshops.
• Work closely with Engineering Team to foster professional values and build good relationships.
• Work with multiple discipline projects and monitor fieldwork activities;
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications;

 

Qualification

Education & Professional Qualification

Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology degree in Naval/civil/ mechanical or any other relevant engineering disciplines.

Professional Experience

•Minimum 6 to 8 years experience in Installation Analysis (Preferably using Orcaflex)

Geographic Experience

GCC / Qatar preferred

Computer and Language Skills

Experience using installation analysis software (Orcaflex©, MOSES, Flexcom©, Deeplines©, Offpipe, etc.)

Market / Industry /Functional Knowledge

• Knowledge of related health, safety, security and environmental regulations
• Understanding of Quality Management Systems, such as ISO 9001

Related Professional Training, Certification or Membership:

Preferred: 
Engineering Registration UPDA or at least qualified for registratio
