Job Description

Responsible for managing and monitoring effective provision of HSS business units facilities in order to ensure that employees and the third parties operate in safe and risk free working environment within the NWC.

Key Accountabilities

  • Reporting to HSS Director on day to day activities and required HSS KPI’s reports.
  • Provide day-to-day management and supervision to section heads and direct reports and support them in achieving their operational objectives. Supports in monitoring KPIs relevant to the area to control the performance against objectives and targets.
  • Ensures the policies and procedures are created, implemented and aligned to the corporate policies
  • Leading major incident investigation and commitment to complete the incident report and ensure to close all the corrective actions.
  • Setting the security guards shift schedule and avoid any uncover sites.
  • Coordinate with cluster team and branch team, provides support for quality inspection, Safety observation and audit, reporting non-conformance.
  • Leading and supervising the HSS team for day-to-day work, Manage HSS staffs.
  • Involve in Recruiting, training, and evaluating staff members.
  • Engagement and coordination with NWC HQ HSS.
  • Developing user manuals, policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Develop training materials, arranging training, supervising site inspection, audit etc.
  • Supervising, guiding and investigating incident and investigation reports.
  • Promoting safety culture and near miss records.
  • Regularize safety induction for existing and new workers.
  • Develop incident/accident management system in accordance with operation requirements.
  • Manage HSS system and Implement policies and regulations to support the organization.
  • Guiding and supervising to existing contractors to comply HSS requirements.
  • Coordinate and liaising with third party, HCIS and civil defence.
  • Delegating tasks and developing budgets and work schedules.
  • Conducting HSS meeting with HSS team, Management, O&M team and, with contractors.
  • Sharing monthly report to NW- Cluster HSS Director.
  • Collaborating with other departments and professionals in the development of HSS systems.
  • Guiding and supervising contractors to ensure HSS compliance.
  • Ensuring all installations, maintenance, and upgrades are carried out on schedule and as per approved design and specifications.
  • Update with field advancements and ensuring the team receives refresher training.
  • Periodical site visits, site survey, Audit, inspection, interaction with stakeholders and key users.
  • Ensure weekly, monthly HSS reports, update and present the dashboard report.
  • Prepare HSS reports and statistical information for Management, safety committees as required.
  • Responsible and conducting Annual Assessment, Analysis and Action Plan.
  • Conducting a regular program of audit of compliance with the Safety Management Plan and SEC&SAF regulations.
  • Communicating and responding to TATABOA system regarding letters and directives.
  • Setting Department’s employment annual objectives

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety or Engineering equivalent.
+10 Years of experience.
