Job Description

Establish and enforce relevant Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards in designated areas, guide best practices, oversee implementation, and ensure workforce commitment, a responsibility of management such as foremen and production engineers.

Key Accountability Areas

HSE Compliance Assurance:

  • Ensure HSE compliance through continuous assessment, monitoring, and corrective actions at work areas.
  • Lead and review HSE risk assessments, define protection/prevention measures, and take control measures to mitigate significant risks.
  • Review and control protection and prevention systems based on HSE requirements.

Integration into Business Processes:

  • Incorporate HSE factors into business processes, projects, and departmental culture.

Employee Awareness and Training:

  • Ensure staff awareness of HSE responsibilities and provide relevant training as per guidelines.
  • Conduct training on HSE policy and instructions for new employees and subcontractors.

Operational Procedures and Equipment Management:

  • Implement operating procedures for managing occupational safety, health risks, and environmental impact.
  • Check and maintain HSE equipment.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Develop and implement emergency plans, identify, and train emergency response teams, and communicate team details to all employees.
  • Lead and control safe evacuations during emergencies.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on the execution of the HSE management system/plan to the unit manager and HSE team.

Site Inspections and Risk Control:

  • Conduct daily safety site inspections to identify potential hazards and control risks.
  • Plan and monitor all on-site activities to align with HSE rules and procedures.

Communication:

  • Communicate HSE issues/initiatives during business meetings.

Documentation and Records Management:

  • Develop, update, and maintain all HSE documentation and records in the unit system.

Role Accountability

HR Proficiency:

  • Training of sub-ordinates and forming a team to get the work effectively.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
  • Delegate sub-ordinates in each respective assignment.
  • Ensures fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale, motivation of subordinates.

Delivery:

  • Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
  • Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
  • Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

Problem-Solving:

  • Resolve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

Business Process Improvements:

  • Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance:

  • Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.

Health, Safety and Environment:

  • Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Safety Engineering

Work Experience

5 to 10 Years
