Start your career as a General Manager – Business Development (KSA) at Vopak Middle East B.V. and be part of the Management Team of the BU Vopak Asia and Middle East (Vopak AME). You are responsible for the development and implementation of the business strategy and plan of KSA. You will also drive the overall performance of the Vopak KSA network in terms of safety (SHEQ), service and financial results as well as the culture of and sustainable cooperation within the network of Vopak KSA and between Vopak AME and the global Vopak network

What will you do as a General Manager –  Business Development (KSA) ?

As a General Manager – Business Development (KSA), you will identify, initiate, develop and guide the growth potential in the energy transition field in the Asia Middle East (AME) division focusing on KSA. Business development activities vary from developing energy transition projects to developing and marketing new business concepts.

What do we expect from you as a General Manager,  Business Development (KSA) ?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or a related field
  • 10+ years successful project development/investment experience in infrastructure or oil & gas projects
  • Familiarity with the KSA economy: users, producers, consumers, opportunities, technologies, cost drivers and key risks is preferred
  • Familiarity/competence with project management processes and fundamentals
  • Track record of relevant professional experience working with and influencing large, interdisciplinary and international teams
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited guidance
  • Flexible mindset, able to challenge traditional thinking and prepared to work outside the comfort zone
  • Strong business acumen, commercial creativity with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Your core responsibilities are

  • Identify, develop and drive the complete Business Development plan through expansion in existing and new markets and targeted acquisitions in Vopak AME division. This will also involve identifying new growth opportunities, formulating, implementing and monitoring clear action plans and further optimizing existing business practices
  • Participate in the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and divestment projects in division AME
  • Work closely and communicate effectively with customers, competitors, government-owned companies and make visits to engage them and observe the ground reality
  • Develop and manage a network in KSA with relevant internal and external stakeholders in the functional area, representing Vopak’s interest in the main platforms aligned with Vopak AME and according to the agreed relation
  • Understand regulatory environment, identify and seek applicable subsidies and grants
  • Coordinate the work of the project development team including relevant functions (engineering, legal, finance, etc…) as well as the work of external consultants supporting the opportunity development
  • Provide input on Vopak’s global strategy
