Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Data Entry Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately inputting, updating, and maintaining data within our company’s databases and systems. This role requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and the ability to manage large volumes of information. The Data Entry Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and accessibility of our data.

Key Accountability Areas

  • Enter and update data into various computer systems and databases accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents and correct any inconsistencies.
  • Maintain and update existing data sets to ensure the information remains current and accurate.
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation.
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested.
  • Prepare and sort documents for data entry.
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities, and check the output.
  • Generate reports, store completed work in designated locations, and perform backup operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to data protection policies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure data consistency and integrity.
  • Assist in developing and implementing data entry procedures and protocols to improve efficiency.

Role Accountability

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Office Management or Data Entry will be an asset.
  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk or similar position.
  • Fast typing skills; knowledge of touch-typing system is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Basic understanding of databases.
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills.
  • Great attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
