Compressor specialist

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Compressor specialist to provide safe and effective site and workshop overhaul, repair, installation and commissioning services of centrifugal compressors across Sulzer service projects in the Middle East region.

FS engineer job scope

  • Be the first point of contact for allocated customers in respect of any issues relating to agreed on-site scopes of work.
  • Be responsible for on-site Health & Safety.
  • Compile on-site Risk Assessments for scopes of work.
  • Lead and supervise on-site repair teams during site contract execution.
  • Provide continuous improvement in repair, installation and commissioning activities.
  • Develop and maintain good and effective relationships with clients to optimize further service opportunities.
  • Liaise with technical departments within Sulzer to develop engineering solutions.
  • Develop method statements and participate in RCA meetings.
  • Manage relevant suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Compilation of comprehensive site reports in line with company quality management system.
  • Familiar with the risks and hazards within the activities and processes of the role and procedures, practices and measures in place to mitigate the risks.
  • Support in a supervisory position if required.

Additional duties

  • Providing first line technical support across the region.
  • Providing technical training across the region.
  • Providing support to the sales and tendering team including attending client meetings.
  • Supervising/managing compressor/ST projects (subcontractors, suppliers, documentation, etc).
  • Preparing turbomachinery job packs/scopes in preparation for future work.
  • Preparing technical presentations.

Required skills, knowledge and experience

  • Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent/Mechanical Engineering technical qualification.
  • 10 years’ experience of installation and commissioning activity related to centrifugal compressors (mandatory) and other rotating equipment.
  • Experience assembly & disassembly, operation and  testing of compressors and other rotating equipment.
  • Good command of the English language (spoken and written).
  • Communication & customer service skills.
  • Organisation and planning skills.
  • Ability to act independently.
  • Clear & thorough reports.
  • The ability to travel internationally is required.
