My name is Laura Santos from Mexico, I have a degree in electromechanical engineering and five years
of experience developing water treatment projects and managing equipment maintenance. My work
experience supports my choice of specialization and my commitment to improving water resources
management. My most recent job was in a drinking water and sewage services company, where we faced significant challenges in terms of strategic planning for the development of lines and networks, as well as for the distribution of the wastewater collection system and it´s transportation to the treatment plant.

I have worked leading the digitalization of the processes of the department under my charge with the
purpose of improving the operation of electromechanical equipment as well as offering timely
maintenance to each of them. This will allow the automated generation of data for real-time decision
making, failure detection and root cause analysis, as well as time estimation and cost per work order.
By this 2024, I have proposed to implement a remote monitoring system for electromechanical equipment involved in the service cycle, which will significantly contribute to operational efficiency.

In my future career, I envision myself playing a pivotal role in projects with a sustainable approach,
such as reducing the electrical consumption of equipment through operational improvements and
applying renewable energy sources to the wastewater treatment process. Collaborate in the creation
of innovative solutions that address current and future problems related to water and wastewater
management.
